28th International Symposium on Transport Phenomena- 2017 - University of Peradeniya

For the first time since 1985, the 28th International Symposium on Transport Phenomena will be held in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka on the 22nd to 24th of September, 2017. This symposium provides a forum for researchers, scientists, engineers and students from all over the world to exchange information, to present new findings and to engage in discussion on the future directions and priorities in the areas of transport phenomena. The renewal and making of friendship for participants are the further objectives of the ISTP-28 for the future world.
Transport phenomena include the flow of fluid, heat and mass transfer, multiphase flow, micro and nano problems, thermal management of electric and electronic systems, energy conversion and saving technologies both on the ground and in space, and so on.
ISTP History
The history of ISTP goes back to the year 1985 in Honolulu where it was first took place. Research Proposal Flow Chart

[Tips for Writing Your Research Proposal] 1. Know yourself: Know your area of expertise, what are your strengths and what are your weaknesses. Play to your strengths, not to your weaknesses. If you want to get into a new area of research, learn something about the area before you write a proposal. Research previous work. Be a scholar. . 2. Know the program from which you seek support: You are res ponsible for finding the appropriate program for support of your research. . 3. Read the program announcement: Programs and special activities have specific goals and specific requirements. If you don’t meet those goals and requirements, you have thrown out your chance of success. Read the announcement for what it says, not for what you want it to say. If your research does not fit easily within the scope of the topic areas outlined, your chance of success is nil. . 4. Formulate an appropriate research objective: A research proposal is a proposal to conduct research, not to conduct develop

A factory to manufacture anti-biotic vaccines by Navesta Pharmaceuticals was declared open in Sri Lanka

A factory to manufacture anti-biotic vaccines by Navesta Pharmaceuticals was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (Aug. 30). The factory which was built at a cost of Rs. 1.4 billions was opened in Horana by making a landmark in the field of local drug production. The factory will provide 50 million cruets of drug to the public health sector annually, saving the foreign exchange spent for importing them. This will also generate job opportunities for local specialists in the fields of bio-chemist, drugs and pharmaceutical sciences, molecular bio-science and other related sections. A pack of the first drug productions of the new factory was presented to the President by the Chairman of Navesta Pharmaceuticals, Sanjaya Jayaratne. Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne and MP, Harshana Rajakaruna were among those participated in this event.
