“5th International Conference on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Traditional Medicine” organized by the Institute of Indigenous Medicine (IIM), University of Colombo under the guidance of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Sri Lanka on 27th to 29th October 2017.
The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for eminent researchers, academicians, physicians, traditional and medical practitioners, manufacturers and exporters of Ayurveda and herbal products, members of the corporate sector, agriculture sector and stake holders from all over the world.
This conference will provide an overview of the latest information on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Traditional Medicine approach to health including practical strategies for incorporating evidence based modalities into clinical practice, using practices to prevent illnesses, recommendations for management of specific conditions and tools to evaluate the latest related research findings.

A factory to manufacture anti-biotic vaccines by Navesta Pharmaceuticals was declared open in Sri Lanka

A factory to manufacture anti-biotic vaccines by Navesta Pharmaceuticals was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (Aug. 30). The factory which was built at a cost of Rs. 1.4 billions was opened in Horana by making a landmark in the field of local drug production. The factory will provide 50 million cruets of drug to the public health sector annually, saving the foreign exchange spent for importing them. This will also generate job opportunities for local specialists in the fields of bio-chemist, drugs and pharmaceutical sciences, molecular bio-science and other related sections. A pack of the first drug productions of the new factory was presented to the President by the Chairman of Navesta Pharmaceuticals, Sanjaya Jayaratne. Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne and MP, Harshana Rajakaruna were among those participated in this event.
